Here’s an excerpt from my story on eofw.net:

My Encounter with Swissfranc Internet Scam

In this story, I share how I encountered the Swissfranc Internet Scam 4 weeks before the story broke out, how I analyzed the investment and how we acted based on the information we had.

On June 5, an officemate and good friend of mine asked for my thoughts regarding a US dollar investment that was promising 4.5% returns daily. It was the Swissfranc Internet Scam and it was looking for “investors” – unwary victims, really.

From the very first looks at it, I was extremely skeptical. Thanks to the books that I’ve read the past many months, I’ve become more attuned to legitimate investments compared to scams.

(Some of the finance books I read: Pera Mo, Palaguin Mo by Francisco Colayco, 8 Secrets of the Truly Rich by Bo Sanchez, Think Rich Pinoy by Larry Gamboa, Millionaire Mind by T Harv Eker to name a few).

      Hi Mr Ka Edong,

Thank you for your very informative blogs. There are many scams out there and I just want to ask maybe you could give us tips on how to spot real investments. I have a little bit of savings being an OFW myself and would like to put them on the right place. Thank you and I look forward to more blogs in the future.

      Hi Ed,

first, please visit www.eofw.net or eofw.edongskey.com

second, Where are you? That more or less dictates what investments are accessible to you (e.g. you’ll need to put your investment in the facility whether it’s over the counter or online, right?)

third, I personally invest in PhilEquity.
It’s easy to start with PhilEquity
      http://eofw.edongskey.com/investing/phil-equity-mutual-funds/

P5,000 lang ang initial investment, then you can add to your investment at P1,000 (minimum) additional investment. it’s also accessible via Western Union eBiz branches.

      fourth, don’t listen to me! :D .
you should educate yourself and find investments that fit your needs. Read Colayco’s books (pera mo palaguin mo) and Bo Sanchez’s 8 secrets of the rich. Those are good places to start.

      Goodluck!
