Happy New Year, everybody!
Here’s an article about Internet-enabled book-sharing.
As 2007 was drawing to a close, one of my reflections was how I’ve re-discovered my appreciation for books. Here’s a short list of books I read this year:
- Staying Up, Up, Up in a ad Down Down World by Zig ziglar
- Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
- Getting things Done by David Allen
- Why we want you to be Rich by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki
- The Friendship Factor by Alan Loy McGinnis (Thanks g!)
- 8 Secrets of the Truly Rich by Bo Sanchez (highly recommended!)
- Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker (highly recommended!)
- The four Laws of Debt Free Prosperity by Blaine Harris and Charles Coonradt
- Think Rich Quick! by Larry Gamboa and Trace Trajano
- Riches in Foreclosures by Dinna revilla
….and a couple others that I picked up from friends, bookstores and book sales. There are more books that I aim to read in 2008. My “To Read” list includes:
- Five Wishes by Gay Hendricks
- The Success principles by Jack Canfield
- Conquer Fear! by Lisa Jimenez
- Wake up and Live by Dorothy Abrant (?)
I’m thinking about how I could get access to paperback copies of these books (not e-books) more affordably. I considered bookcrossings.com in the past but concluded that the book sharing model of bookcrossings is not fit for Philippine culture. I also found bookcrossings to be too un-directed.
Welcome Bookmooch.com ! Bookmooch.com is an internet service that facilitates book-sharing among members. Idea is: share your books (at your own courier cost) then ask others to share their books to you (at their own courier costs).
Simple, isn’t it? I’m just on the verge of trying it. But my brother says there’s a good number of Pinoy members already. It’s worth a try.
To fellow pinoy book-lovers, See you on Bookmooch.com !
Here’s to a year of growth in 2008!
