Google Calendar: No good for me
May 16th, 2006 | by ka edong |I gave Google Calendar a spin, just to see what’s in store for users.
In the short ten minutes I tried it, I didn’t find anything remarkable .. yet.
I was able to export my Outlook Calendar and imported it to Google Calendar. Quite seamless. Google Calendar displayed daily, weekly and monthly calendars as well as Agenda view. Further, I see my calendar can be shared to my selected contacts.
What use could I have for Google Calendar?
If I were a freelance consultant, I could share my calendar so clients can book appointments with me. I could also use that function if I had an online business.
I could use it if I need to check my sched while travelling.
BUT, my phone, Brosia, keeps my calendar handy. I can sync my phone to my laptop calendar.
I don’t see myself using Google Calendar. Nothing compelling about it (yet) considering the alternative calendars I have on my phone and laptop.
If Google Calendar could sync to my MS Outlook … maybe, maybe I’ll take a second look
