Firefox likes and don’t likes

What I like about Firefox:

  • Clean tab-browsing (I loved it when I discovered the Ctrl+tab shortcut)
Find! - ah, heaven for text searching!
  • popup blocking
  • Download manager

What I don’t like about Firefox:

  • It starts up less quickly than IE. I felt the difference in start time a lot when I was using Kurdapia, my less powerful laptop.
  • It doesn’t run my often used banking facility, BPI Express Online. Or, conversely, BPIEO doesn’t support firefox.
  • WebPages linked to my windows login aren’t supported in Firefox.

These and more, I like and don’t like about Firefox. Ah, but there’s more to like … See some Firefox 1.5 updates at Pinoy.Tech.Blog.

One more thing I like. Firefox Referral program!.

One of the things i don’t like on firefox is when I open a new window from another application, it overwrites on the existing firefox screen instead of opening a new one. I wonder if this is my settings…

      hi wilson,

      yes, it is a setting:

      Firefox > Options > Advance >

Under Tabbed Browsing, Open links from other applications in:

      (Select) “a new window”

      ka edong,

i manage my mom’s bpifb express online account and i can access it everyday with firefox. I wonder what your problem is with regards to not having access to bpiexpressonline.com.

anyway, what i don’t like about Firefox is not having a built-in blocker for “things-meant-for-people-who-are-18-and-above”. My younger cousins sometimes use this PC to surf the net, and most of the times, well, they get…”shocked”.

You’re right, renzo. BPIExpressonline.com does work with my firefox 1.0.7 . Siguro 6 months ago or more, it didn’t work. Upgrades, patches or BPI IT may have made the two compatible.

“things-meant-for-people-who-are-18-and-above” You mean porn? hehehe. I’m sure there’s a plugin or a service somewhere out there. I just haven’t gone looking. let me know if you find one that suits your needs.

Oooops! I take it back! bpiexpressonline doesn’t work on my firefox 1.0.7. The BPIEO has mouse-over menu and firefox doesn’t display the sub-menu.
