SmartPass-Ko Load

January 5th, 2006 | by ka edong |

I was doing a pasa-load transaction last week. The networks were so busy and my transaction didn’t get through. But here’s something I found interesting:

30-Dec 17:56:29:SMARTPass-Ko Load wil b available on postpaid soon.To avail d service,visit any SMARTwireless center 2 buy a prepaid SIM/apply 4 a multiline SIM

Hmmmm… what is this? Is this similar to the Globe G2P service which allows a post-paid user to switch between postpaid and prepaid?

What are the benefits of such a service?

There are some telco services exclusively for prepaid subscribers. This is one instance that postpaid subscribers are “marginalized”. (Ironic, ‘no?).

For example, all the previous unlimited calls or low-rate calls were offered almost exclusively for prepaid subscribers. Letting a post-paid subscriber switch to a “pre-paid SIM” (preferrably still the same number as the post-paid SIM) will allow the postpaid subscriber to avail of pre-paid services.

What will the SMARTPass-Ko Load service be like?
I don’t know. I wonder. Will it allow postpaid subscribers to receive load? How will it work?

Who has information on this?
