Smart Money in Singapore

September 18th, 2005 | by ka edong |

Last month, Maya and I went to Singapore. We had the chance to visit Lucky Plaza, the mall where Filipinos converge during Sundays. We were there on a Monday so we missed the “Divisoria”-esque ambiance.

There was a remittance and courier desk that was adverting Smart Money and G-Cash. Being my natural self, I inquired. This is the information I gathered:
Delivery is 2 to 3 days.
Charge is 4.5SGD flat rate (around Pesos 145).

What’s weird is, given the technology of Smart Money and G-Cash, I’m wondering why this remittance desk in Singapore requires 2 to 3 days to deliver. It should be much shorter with the m-commerce technology. Ewan ko ba, maybe they don’t have real access to the international Smart Money and G-Cash systems. Maybe what they do is send the money to the Philippines and then their branch her in the Philippines delivers via Smart Money and G-Cash.

yung setup na inaayos ko for our own remittance via G-Cash and Smart Money is 1-2days din for the recepient to recieve the cash. Kailangan ko pang iverify manually every remittance processed over our site. Malas lang at ala pa kaming remittance license kaya dpa pwede. Hehehe.

May problema pa akong nakikita about sa remittance namin. What if may lamang P500 yung Gcash wallet ng recepient and yung sender nagsend ng P10,000… Pagkakaalam ko, hindi yata papasok yung P10,000… pero dpa din ako sigurado.

Sa case nila, baka nga itinatawag pa nila dito or ineemail pa yung mga details before sending the Gcash or Smart Money..

Tama ka diyan. The recepient will have to Cash-out the P500 first before you can send the entire P10,000 .

P10,000 ang maximum G-Cash na pwedeng laman ng ordinary customer’s account. Partner merchant accounts can get bigger capacities.

Hi , just read your article about Smart Money in Singapore. The system that Remittance companies in Singapore use is still in text format that is why the delivery or transfer took that long. Smart Money transactions are suppose to be transferred real time. We have developed a remittance system that allows remittance companies to transfer electronic cash to targeted Smart money accounts through a secure internet site.Money is directly credited to a Smart Money virtual account of the beneficiaries’ Smart mobile phone or to a physical Smart Money Mastercard in seconds. Approx 2-5 seconds the cash is transferred to the Smart Money account of the benef. The system also has a reporting system to better manage the transactions. For inquiries .. email me.

hi macky, thanks for the info.

I couldn’t load your website at this time.

Interesting what you’ve cooked up. Kumusta naman ang take-up ng clients? how do the clients give your company the remittance money?
