PLDT and Smart got married.
That’s the marketing gimmick of PLDT and Smart’s new and permanent service. PLDT
Ang pinaka-aabangan!
Unlimited PLDT to Smart
PLDT to PLDT P10 per callSubscribe Now!
Dial 10-10-10
Only P50 monthly subscription fee
PLDT subscribers can make calls to other PLDT landlines nationwide and other Smart cellphones at only P10 per call, no matter how long the call is.
To avail of the service, a subscriber needs to enroll by dialling 10-10-10 using a PLDT landline.
When enrolled, the subscriber will be billed P50 monthly for the service.
Not bad. Reliable network, no congestion, reasonable rate. Very useful for businesses. Not bad.
What’s the downside? Not much. P50 per month isn’t huge. That’s the equivalent of a 7 minute call using regular charges. The service won’t be of much use to people who don’t make many NDD calls.
What’s next? Flat rate for IDD calls? I doubt!
But I dream still …

Speaking of Pldt…
yung telephone bill namin sa Pilipinas eh umaabot DAW sa tumataganting na P15K!!? Paliwanag ng PLDT everytime *daw* na na-didisconnect yung internet connection (it’s a dial up-connection using inter.net prepaid card… low tech eh no?! shame) eh automatic daw nag dia dial ng connection sa *gasp* Austria??!
(FYI: Area Code kasi ng Batangas + Country code Austria eh parehong “43″)
Ka edong… is this possible?
Kates on 14 Jan 2006 at 6:42 am: 2

hi vemsan,
The evidence is in your PC. You should be able to verify if PLDT’s claim about your dialler is accurate.
Try also locking your phone such that it can’t make long-distance calls.
To lock, dial:
*54*(4-digit PIN)#
To unlock, dial:
#54*(4-digit PIN)#
Agree rin ako kay Kates … come to think of it, his is a simpler solution. Thanks for your input, Kates!

I saw this tv commercial about the P10 per 10min. call from smart to PLDT landline several weeks ago. I never tried it before. I used to call my bestfriend through my mobile phone since that is the only way I can get in touch with her (she and her family moved to Manila and I’m residing here at Laguna) I am not into the SMS thing so I call her most of the time. But now that her family subscribed to PLDT, I wanted to try the P10/10min. call from my mobile phone to their landline. Para malaking tipid! If i may ask, Is the promo still ongoing? If it is, how can I avail of it?

Hi Shiela,
Carla had the same question.
Fortunately for you, I have the answer now.
The promo expired on Feb 14. This is according to the customer service representative at Smart Wireless Center in Megamall Cyberzone.
