I first saw it featured in Digital Tour.
This time, I saw it at the BPI booth, a tool of a Globe representative for those upgrading their Globe SIM for the BPI Express Mobile service.
The SIM Card reader has two slots, one for the old SIM, one for the new SIM. It can copy messages and contacts from one SIM to the other.
Just out of curiosity (as usual), I wanted to see how the SIM card reader would handle a dual-SIM. Result: the SIM card reader couldn’t read the dual-SIM.
The SIM card reader gadget is cool. But it’s not exactly an everyday gadget for the end consumer. It will come in handy for cellphone repair shops and telco customer service reps.

I have one of those gadgets. I use it as a backup copy of my contacts just in case I lose my mobile phone.
