Pwedeng mag-share?

Lucky plaza is the mall where many of our fellow-Filipinos converge on Sundays to meet friends, do some Filipino food shopping, send their remittances to their families sa probinsya. It’s where you’ll feel like you’re just in the Philippines.

Maya and I were in Singapore last month. One Monday, we went to look for Lucky Plaza along Orchard Road. Even before we reached Lucky plaza, we knew we were nearby because of this advertisement in the heart of Singapore. Read closely!

Tagalog Advertisement in Singapore Cute, huh?! A Tagalog advertisement in a foreign land. Well, nakaka-panibago lang siguro after going around Singapore, seeing most signs written in the four languages predominant in Singapore: English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil.

So, we must be near Lucky Plaza! Where else will you find people who can understand a Tagalog advertisement like this?

Libreng Tawag care of familiar brandsThere was another Tagalog advertisement at Lucky Plaza’s entrance. Look closely and you’ll find some familiar logos at the bottom.

Yup, those are Globe Telecom and TM logos. SingTel, the giant Singaporean telco, has a major stake in Globe Telecom. Yun lang, share ko lang.

End of sharing …
