Losing my phone: An almost ruined day

January 10th, 2006 | by ka edong |

I lost my indispensable phone, Brosia. … almost

Brosia is my Smartphone, two and a half years old, my constant companion for waking me up, tending to my schedules, reminders, sending my e-mails, SMS of course and a whole lot more.

When I got off my taxi this morning, I wanted to make a call. Brosia wasn’t in my pocket. I realized Brosia slipped off my pocket and unto the taxi’s front seat.

Fortunately for me, the taxi driver hesitated. He hadn’t driven off from where I got off 40 seconds earlier. Just when the driver squeezed on the gas pedal, I waved to him to stop and walked in front of his taxi.

I opened the front door and found Brosia. Brosia wasn’t in the seat. She was neatly tucked between the seat and the handbrake area — a place impossible to get into unless somebody (who else?) picked it from the seat and put it there.

The driver said “buti nalang hindi pa ako umalis”. Loko siya! He was about to drive off *after* discovering my phone in his taxi. Buti hindi ko siya sinaktan! [ hehehe .... di naman talaga ako bayolente ;-) ]

Thanks to my angel for saving Brosia from the clutches of evil hands. It was almost a ruined day for me.

I would have survived, of course. A phone is just a phone. Life is good.

your last two paragraphs really uplifted me (”I would have survived, of course. A phone is just a phone. Life is good.”) It has been almost a year since I lost my phone to..well, can’t really say it..

      chill. life is good.

Well, some people DO have luck. Others, do not i.e. ME. Today, in almost the same cercumstances, I lost my phone. It’s the third in a year, it’s a problem of my abscent mindedness but I cannot change who I am not matter how much heart ache I suffer. In this instant, coincidentally, it was a Filpina that I am certain did the evid deed. She got in the taxt as I got out, I realised it was still inside, I called it (from my GF’s phone) it rang, it was then engaged, then it was off. And you (Filipino’s) believe in God, Good and Repentence? I don’t think so! I am glad you didn’t suffer as I have many time….
