Pepeng, the walkman phone (and other gadget names)

I have a good friend, EL. She told me she was buying a new cellphone. Thus I shared to EL one of my eccentricities: I name my gadgets.
- Brosia is my Smart Phone. Her full name is Brosia Almighty. She got her name after I dropped her at an MRT station and she came off scott free. She’s such a powerful phone that I call her Brosia Almighty.
- Kurdapia is my Toshiba Satellite laptop. She was a gift from my wife. We bought her “pre-owned”. I named Kurdapia after my minamahal. Maya’s mama sometimes calls Maya “Kurdapia” – a pet name.
- By the way, I had a pet plant at my old office which I named Puring. Thanks to my officemate, Katch, for the name.
And so my friend EL buys her Sony Ericsson W800i, a goodlooking orange walkman phone. And she introduces me to her cellphone:
“Meet Pepeng. Short for Prospero Labuyo. Prospero for a prosperous year, Labuyo as homage to my province of Bicol.”

nice one ka edong.. long time no see and hear.. i better start naming my gadgets.. sad to say, I let my sap sap go.. and welcome my new orange c550. itago n lng natin sa pangalang “ikong”. yan tawag sa akin nung bata ako at medyo katunong ng hurIKEYN.. htc’s name for this phone.

am back after ilang bwan.. wala lng magawa kaya napadaan.. d ka na dumadaan sa fagev ah.. miss d ol’ days….
d2 ko US ngaun.. me bago ako device.. mejo kapangalan ni Pepeng.. .. pangalan nya PIPI (hindi yung bastus ha..) short for PI-PI-SI (PPC pocket pc).. hehehe… HTC Wizard sya katulad nung ke Mrey
