SEC’s iRegister - I can’t Register

I’m trying out some Securities and Exchange Commission online e-governance services:

The Philippine SEC offers the public the convenience of online registration through SEC-iRegister, the web-based Company Registration System of the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

SEC-iRegister is a quick, affordable, and user friendly service that is available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An easy, step-by-step guide allows everyone, even the computer novice, to use this web-based company registration system from the convenience of their desktop.

With SEC-iRegister, clients can do the following online:

  • Verifying the availability of the desired name for corporation or partnership
  • Reserving the verified name
  • Accomplishing and printing the registration online without the need to buy the SEC forms

Too bad the iRegister website (http://iregister.sec.gov.ph/) isn’t loading today. Let me try contacting some friends at Sun Microsystems (I recall they were the backbone and developers of iRegister), and ask them “What’s up with that?!”

On a positive note, I’m glad SEC (http://www.sec.gov.ph/) has some downloadable pamphlets, documents, forms — all indicators of maturing e-government services.

hi edwin! try mo mag-register pag gabi (kahit around 6-7:pm). Successful yung attempts ko to register pag mga ganung time ko sinusubukan. but the system isnt as efficient as it should be… you can accomplish more by lining up sa SEC. tutal you wont be able to finish registering/reserving your business name without going to the SEC–to pay for the reservation fee or to buy the card that you need for you to be able to pay for the reservation fee online. But I agree, having alternative options to deal with government is really a cool step forward.
