5 Secret Things About Me: The Disclosure Meme

This is more than a year delayed. Hahaha! .

In January 2007, Migs tagged me for this disclosure meme (pronounced “meem“, not “meh-meh” as some pinoy tots would sometimes call their milk :D).

I wasn’t much into disclosing stuff at that time. But I remembered this meme recently when I finally gave in and answered an email from a friend at Sydney asking for interesting things about me.

So, here go 5 secrets things about “Ka Edong” that you probably don’t know:

1. Anonymous blogs. I have a couple of anonymous blogs. I use(d) them to express some of my deepest darkest secrets. My way of releasing some of my thoughts and emotions but that I don’t want people to know about. Mwahahahaha! . Could be a source for a love song or horror movie in the future. But they will remain anonymous at this time.
2. Got scared in Snow White Cartoon. When I was around 6 years old, my family watched the Disney cartoon Snow White and the seven dwarfs at Session Theater in Baguio. There’s a scene there where the evil queen turns into a witch. At the part where the dwarfs go for a witch hunt, trying to save Snow White, I got soooo terrified and had to go out of the cinema. Thanks keric for coaching me to remember happy thoughts (sesame street!) in times like those .
3. Solo Travel. I travelled solo to Coron, Palawan. Travelled solo to Sagada in New Year 2002. Travelled solo in a landtrip from Davao to Cubao. Crossed the San Juanico bridge on foot. Travelled solo from Johannesburg South Africa to Swaziland.
   There’s something about travelling solo.
   - Upside is just being yourself or any person you want to be in the vastness of anonymity.
   - Downside is when you find something so awesome and your heart skips a beat because you know you would have enjoyed it a hundred times more if your loved one was with you right that moment.
4. No TV. I’ve stopped watching TV for almost two years now (since 2006). I no longer find the craving to watch TV. If I happen to be in a place with a TV show or movie, I’ll watch if it’s a good show. Otherwise, I’ll leave or just ignore the it. I’d rather read, write or listen to an audiobook.
5. Sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, flowers, trees and beautiful things. I stop for sunsets. I watch moonrises. I like beautiful flowers. There’s a fire tree in our subdivision and I would say it out loud, it’s a beautiful tree! I have a huge appreciation for beautiful things that God has given us to take care of. Ah, good times!

Good times indeed. Liberating, it is. Like opening up part of my Johari window.
