I made sure to upload some photos while I'm here. So scuttle to Edongskey's Photos (http://edongskey.com/photos) to see some newly uploaded photos - some new, many old.

I've been using Chikka messenger a lot this year. I normally don't use it when I'm in Manila. I don't bother.
But when I'm travelling, Chikka keeps me connected with textmates back at home.
I use Chikka's JavaLite. It's an online browser-run version or Chikka messenger. That way, I don't ...

I've heard about downloading videos online. I personally haven't tried it. I've never had a broad enough Internet connection to accommodate such a task.
The most that I've downloaded were short films, around 12 mins max for my Smartphone, Brosia. I used these pocket movies to entertain some Aeta kids when ...

On Pinoy.Tech.Blog, I share an exchange I had with a gentleman from Geneva regarding mobile services on a global scale.
Currently, I can think of three mobile services that generally work globally across different countries and different mobile networks: IDD calls, International SMS and International MMS.
But aside from these, ...

There's a Biometrics time-in/time-out machine at NBI Carriedo. It's something out of a Science Fair, what with the crude but clever way the machine was packaged.
The machine has a couple of components:
First, it has a computer monitor that displays a list of people who recently timed-in/out.
Second, there is a ...

I have two stories on Pinoy.Tech.Blog about how I've experienced PLDT interacting with their customers through IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System).
Read about the IVRS recording my voice and validating my cellphone number and how Toni Rose Gayda of Eat Bulaga called me to do some telemarketing.
In these stories, ...

Well, just an idea ...
Yesterday, I wrote about the conversion of Internet shops into call centers.
There are thousands of Internet shops around the country. Almost every urban/semi-urban area in the Philippines has it's own Internet shop all the way down to the barangay level.
Imagine if so many Internet ...

There's a service provider at Center Mall in Philicoa (did I get the Mall name right?). The service is: conversion of an Internet shop into a call center.
Images flashed in my mind:

Writing about medical transcriptions yesterday reminded me about Dr. George. Dr. George is an online medical advise website primarily serving the US market. It’s a question answer website where visitors post their medical question and a professional medical opinion is posted online as a response.

I spoke to a friend who’s into medical transcriptions. Some info I gathered from him:
• Turn-over is quick.. He says that sometimes they would train a medical transcriptionist (MT) for two months and they they’d leave for another company.
• He advises that MT companies should find a way to hold ...
